Подключить сервер к usenet

Кто нибудь сталкивался с таким? Есть сервер, можно его как-нибудь подключить к сети usenet, естественно, требуется чтобы основные newsgroup присутствовали.

Сталкивался. Это дрочилово для старичков, на смену юзнету пришли форумы.
Все просто, ставится nntp сервер на машину и указывается ему список фидов в конфиге, откуда брать группы.

If you know enough about how to make that work, yes that's exactly what you
can do. Anyone that wants to set up their one server can do it - many
have.

If you want a "free" server that carries all of usenet (all binaries), I
hope you have lots of money to throw at it. You will need many thousands
of dollars worth of hardware and bandwidth just to set up and run the most
pitiful system for a few days. A Usenet newsfeed (what you need to get
from someone else to synchronize your server with the rest of usenet)
consumes hundreds of megabits of bandwidth. It's far too expensive to set
up a full binary server for the fun of it unless you are very rich and can
afford to throw away 100's of thousands of dollars to set up your "free"
server. Binary Usenet servers aren't one machine - they haven't been for
decades. They are many racks full of servers all working together and cost
a lot of money to set up and operate.

If all you want is a text server, then you will be able to do that just
fine on a medium sized server as long as you have a full time internet
connect with a few megabits of bandwidth (that your provider will let you
use full time). But even that takes work to set up and keep working.

If on the other hand, all you want to do is set up a server that carries a
small handful of text groups, then you are talking about something that can
run on any old machine with very little bandwidth - as long as you can find
someone to provide you peering - and as long as you are smart enough with
computers to make it all work. It's not like setting up windows.

На сколько я понимаю, технически они ничем не отличаются от обычных, вопрос в том кто отдаст ее на чтение или запись. Надо гуглить овнера или того кто раздает ее, ну и договариваться наверное. В чем тайный смысл использования древних ископаемых? Контент тягать оттуда?

это своего рода альтернатива торрентам. большие скорости, никаких сидов, долгий срок хранения.
